The Ravenous Bugblatter Beast of Traal
Stupid, but extremely ravenous!

Welcome to Traal

This site hosts the Ravenous Bugblatter Beast's Adminmod plugins. Admin Mod is a server-side add-in for half-life and its various 'mods' such as Counter-strike, Team Fortress Classic and Day of Defeat. It provides a number of useful features for both server administrators and players alike. It also provides an API allowing anyone to write plugins to expand its capabilities. This site hosts a number of such plugins.

News

As the quick-witted amongst you may have noticed, I haven't been actively working on Admin Mod or any half-life development for quite some time now. I've decided to remove the older versions of my plugins from this site to free up a little web space. The latest version of each is still available. If you do need to look at an older version for some reason you can email me, however, if its because the latest version isn't working then its probably because half life has moved on in the past 2 years. I'm not aware of any bugs in the last versions of any of the plugins that aren't present in earlier versions. On the up side, new hitch-hikers movie :)

If anyone was wondering why there are no graphics on this page, they are all in my b3ta gallery.

How about a Metamod plugin for a change? Announcing Universal 1.00 - a metamod plugin to make Metamod compatible with every version of every Half-Life based game. (in theory ;). It might also make metamod compatible with any bots it currently doesn't work with.
7th August 2003
Fixed an important bug in plugin_blatt_whois (V3.8) - all dates in August were being recorded as being in June!
1st August 2003
Updated plugin_blatt_whois (V3.7) to integrate with Cheating-Death. The plugin can now act as a Cheating-Death mediator allowing you to use optional mode in cheating death and have the plugin enforce its use for players that have played on the server too long, that get too higher kills:deaths ratio or who are watched. Also all other plugin zip files have been rebuilt to include missing css files for the offline manuals.
26th July 2003
Important changes and bugfixes to plugin_blatt_whois (V3.6), especially for linux users. This plugin also now comes with a script for Windows users to prune the database. There is also a minor change to plugin_blatt_teamchange (V3.4); if you change a player's team it will now anounce this to all other admins with ACCESS_TEAMCHANGE. Also a number of plugins have been updated to compile without correctly on Adminmod 2.50.56 - you don't need to update the previous version if you are using a pre-compiled AMX file, but you should not compile the old SMA files against Admin Mod 2.50.56.
16th June 2003
More fixes for plugin_blatt_map (V3.9) - including a resolution to the problem of people nominating maps using the wrong case on Linux. Also some corrections have been made to the manuals for several other plugins.
19th May 2003
4 plugins updated:
  • There are more new features and bugfixes for plugin_blatt_whois (V3.5) including tracking of people rejoining the server with new names.
  • An update wouldn't be complete without changes to plugin_blatt_map (V3.8). There are minor bug fixes and new features for all users. Additionally, this plugin will now support coloured and longer lasting csay's when used with the new adminmod 2.50.53 beta version (requires recompilation - see the history page for details).
  • To prove the older plugins aren't dead, plugin_blatt_teamchange (V3.3) has had an update after a long period of inactivity after some suggestions were posted in the adminmod forums by grygrx.
  • Finnaly, plugin_blatt_monster (V3.4) has been "repackaged" to include a two versions of the Windows DLL - one for Pentium 4 / Athlon (this was in the previous 5th may package) and one that works on all processors (this wasn't). NOTE: There are no changes to the plugin or DLL code.

Admin Mod 2.50.52 has been released. I strongly recommend that you upgrade to this version - 2.50.50 users need only copy over the new DLL and AMX files for the standard plugins. This build contains a number of bug fixes, two of which fix serious issues with the handling of timers.

9th March 2003
A major new plugin relesaed - plugin_blatt_whois. This plugin creates a database containing details of everyone who plays on your server, recording the number connections, WONID / SteamID, IP addresses used, and alternate names used. Features include:
  • The database is stored in mulitple XML files on disk, so it is not limited on the number of players supported. It is tested on a server with over 1000 different players.
  • A hashing algorithm is used to quickly locate files, limiting limiting the lag caused
  • Easy to read output in console
  • Player reports can also be viewed in Internet Explorer
  • Records a log of all kicks / bans / unbans on each player.
  • Admins can add notes to the log against each player
  • Admins can setup watches to alert other players to suspected cheaters.
  • Plugin can detect people playing on a new WONID after they have been banned.

New versions of all plugins that use the language plugin are also released. Site Compatibility

This site is tested in IE 6, Mozilla 1.3 and Opera 7. It should also work in IE 5 and above. AOL can shove their browsers where the sun don't shine. I'll think about supporting their netscrape browsers when they start paying their taxes in UK instead of funneling it all to some offshore bank account. Well, actually, I won't.
